G80 Eye-shaped Sliding Hooks/Claw hook
G80 Grade:
This designation indicates its strength grade. Made of high-strength alloy steel (typically chromium-molybdenum alloy steel), it undergoes heat treatment (quenching and tempering) for high strength and is suitable for heavy-load lifting operations.
It meets the G80 (Grade 80) standard and is currently widely used in industrial lifting. Its safety factor is generally 4:1 (breaking force is four times the working load).
1. Eye Type:
This refers to a slip hook with a ring or eye-shaped upper connection.
This design allows it to be directly attached to chains, wire rope slings, connecting rings, or other lifting accessories.
2. Slip Hook / Self-Locking Hook:
A slip hook (also often called a clevis hook) has a small opening at the hook head to facilitate hooking and unhooking of the load.
In G80-grade applications, this type of hook is typically a self-locking hook (also called an automatic locking hook or safety hook). This means that when loaded, the safety latch or lock automatically closes and locks, preventing accidental unhooking during lifting, significantly improving operational safety.
In summary, the G80 eye-type sliding hook is a lifting hook made of high-strength alloy steel. The upper portion connects to the rigging via an eye ring. The lower portion features a self-locking hook mouth, which is used to hook and remove heavy objects and automatically locks when loaded, ensuring safety. It is widely used in industries requiring heavy lifting, such as manufacturing, construction, ports, and mining.
